Welcome to a new chapter

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. Blogging is something that is completely new to me, so please do feedback what you would like to hear more (or less of). I started the journey to become an accredited Sport Psychologist at the start of the year, and in this blog I will not only take you on this journey with me, but I will also give you an insight into the sport psychology profession and the applied frameworks that we work with.

Why is is a new chapter?

Inspired by the teenage female cricketers that I both coached and played with who were chasing their professional and sporting dreams, 10-years into a data-driven marketing and fundraising career I decided to chase my passions too. Sport has not just been a hobby from a young age, but a lifestyle. I have lived, breathed and embodied sport throughout my life and the chance to enjoy my professional life in a sector that I am passionate about have been a game-changer for me. I have always been interested in the nuances of human behaviour, so the chance to marry sport and psychology was a no-brainer.

Working through my postgraduate degree opened my eyes to what I previously thought was a myth, and that was the potential for job satisfaction. I devoured the content and was proud to earn a distinction. Now as I begin working towards becoming an accredited sport psychologist, I continue to have a complete thirst for knowledge so I can offer my clients the latest innovations and psychological frameworks and while remaining as passionate as ever for sport psychology as a profession.

Why The Competitive Edge?

Whatever level of sport you compete in, it is my firm belief that a confident and resilient mindset will give you an edge over your competitors, thus a competitive edge. Whether a positive mindset comes naturally to your or not, we can all benefit from ongoing performance and mindset training to give ourselves the best possible chance of success.

What’s next?

➡ Arming you with sport psychology knowledge through blog and social media posts

➡ Continued professional development so I can offer you the latest in sport psychology strategy

➡ And of course, I will be continuing my work in applied practice where I can offer group workshops or 1-to-1 consultations (see my service page for more information)

Thank you for stopping by, until next time!
